Even though I’ve known Sap for a short time, based on technical work we did together recently, I’m writing more about his leadership attributes that I consistently observed during that period.

Sap is highly disciplined. His say-to-do ratio is excellent, and he invests time and effort doing whatever he promised. He is a very hungry learner, and will surely pay off, as life is about constantly learning. He is very reflective and is in-tune with who he truly is.

Though I led in our interactions, I have come to appreciate his leadership potential. He truly understands the phrase “Start with why”, and doesn’t settle for just the what/how. This characteristic is critical in leaders as they have to cast vision that’s meaningful.

He is an excellent communicator, and has presented the work we did in multiple environments. He is able to abstract the information (up-leveling) to match the audience. This aspect is critical in communicating the vision to others.

I recently learned that his name, Saptarshi, means “seven sages”. This to me is probably the best reflection of the wealth of wisdom in his youth.

I highly recommend him in any leadership role.
